Beachy Head: No One Stopped Us

Beachy Head is the highest chalk cliff in Britain. The lighthouse has warned ships since 1902. It did not warn anyone about us. Ji'ana Fenix and HK7335. The Channel had no objections.

Armor Field Note: Beachy Head, East Sussex, England

The lighthouse stands like a red-striped sentinel against chalk cliffs that crumble into the sea below.

HK7335 and I approached via the coastal path, noting how the wind carries salt and something heavier—the weight of too many final decisions. The lighthouse keeper mentioned they've operated here for over a century, warning ships away from these jagged rocks. I didn't mention that Mandalorians have always understood the concept of dangerous beauty.

A cluster of tourists gathered near the cliff edge, phones extended for photos while the wind tried to claim their hats. Several stepped back when they noticed us, though whether from the armor or their sudden awareness of the drop behind them remained unclear. The Coastguard patrol nodded respectfully as they passed—professionals recognizing professionals, even when one wears beskar and the other hi-vis jackets.

The memorial plaques along the path tell stories without words. Crisis hotline signs stand like small monuments to hope. HK7335 calculated wind speeds while I studied the crumbling chalk face, noting how the cliff retreats centimeters each year. The English have built their most beautiful lighthouse at their most perilous point.

A family asked if I was part of some film production. I gestured toward the lighthouse and mentioned that sometimes the most important guardians stand exactly where the danger lies. They seemed to understand, though they kept their children closer to the path afterward.

The lighthouse beam swept across darkening waters as we prepared to leave, its red warning stripes bright against the chalk. Below, waves carved away another day's worth of England's edge while above, electronic voices offered hope to anyone who might need it.

Apparently the Empire never considered that the most effective deterrent isn't a Death Star—it's a lighthouse that's been doing its job for a century
